This beautifully, hand-carved Parrot is sculpted by Hopi artist, Alton Pashano. In Hopi tradition, the Parrot Katsinam is one of many that bring abundant summer growth to the corn crops.
Kachina Dolls are very sacred to the Hopi and many other Native American cultures. Each Doll represents immortal spirit beings that bring rain, messages, and control nature. They are given to their children to teach about Kachinas.
